This is a corrective solution for a badly tainted tooth, on which whitening efforts have no effects. This thin layer (4 to 6 tenth of a millimeter) is stuck directly on the visible face of the tooth. It can also be applied to hide a defect at the enamel surface, a small defect in the teeth row, or a space between two teeth.Built in a solid material, it can also cover a tooth with a little broken part. The technique is rather simple.With experts, you can get the best aesthetic and functional results.Placement of facets is usually done in three stages:

The tooth is prepared:

under local anesthetic: the tooth enamel is prepared on 0.2 to 0.3 mm, so as to be able to receive the future facet. A temporary facet is built and applied at the same time.

Imprint: imprints of the tooth are done to enable the prosthetist to build the final facets.

Placement of the facet: with a bio material such as cement-paste, the facet is placed permanently.

The advantages of a dental facet: the tooth remains alive and the preparation is easier than for a typical ceramo-metallic crown. The only disadvantage is the facet unsticking. Pastes are performant but they need to be reapplied every 10 years approx.

          

  

When the visible part of a tooth is broken or strongly damaged, but the root is intact, dentists may place a crown for an improved aesthetic appearance (the most adapted solution for this particular case). The crown is fixated and cemented to the tooth. The tooth will have to be grinded beforehand.

Fixation of a crown: 4 steps

Step 1: The dentist makes an imprint of the existing crown. The imprint is used as a model to help creating a new one.

Step 2: The real tooth is getting ready for the fixation of a temporary crown.

Step 3: The patient usually keeps the new crown for life.

Step 4: The final result is a new tooth which blends in harmoniously with the others.

Quality of the materials

The materials used in the dental prosthesis come from world renowned builders. They are based in Germany (3M), in Sweden (Nobel biocare) and in Japan (Noritake). Prosthesists have their shops directly inside the clinic building. Therefore it is possible to carry out dental works in a short period of time. The crown price depends on the presence of a metal base. (gold is more expensive than nickel).

Why are the crown so different in price?

The most pricy crowns are the metal-free ceramic ones which are composed of high density aluminium oxide and zirconium. They have an excellent resistance (Procera® ALL CERAM crown), do not cause any allergies and have a more natural aesthetic aspect, especially at daylight. These crowns are generally used for the visible part of the teeth.


     

    

In the case of several missing tooth in a row, a bridge can be a good solution.The bridge is usually covered by the teeth located on each side of the hole. These teeth (or pillars of support) are previously cut so that the bridge can be fixed. The bridges are composed of pure ceramic and are cemented on the pillars of support. A bridge can be raised successfully provided that there is enough substance dental at the pillars.


      

    

Dental implants are fixed with many advantages of denture in terms of comfort, aesthetics and functionality. The implant can respond to case of partial or total implants. Inserted in the jawbone in its fits into the tissue bone, the implant will eventually replace the natural tooth root. This solution enables to the creation of fixed and perfectly stable prosthesis, which are then placed on the implants.

Various stages of implant installation:

Step 1 : The dentist makes an initial examination and produces one or more X-rays of the area concerned by the surgery.

Etape 2 : The implant is placed. A provisional tooth is placed at the same time, so that you can eat and enjoy the functional qualities of your new teeth comparable to those of natural teeth. The implant integration in the jaw bone requires 2 to 3 months before it is possible to take the next step.

Etape 3 : The last step is the final ceramic tooth laying. The new tooth is scheduled to last a lifetime. No treatment or additional element is needed.

Etape 4 : Your new tooth is perfectly adjusted and works as well as a natural tooth.
